Dashas — the chapters of your life
In the vimshottari system, your birth moon's star decides which planet's period you start life in. Each mahadasha runs 6 to 20 years, split into antardashas (sub-periods). A Jupiter dasha favors growth, study and children; a Saturn dasha rewards hard work and patience; a Rahu dasha brings sudden, worldly pulls.
Transits — the daily weather
While dashas run for years, transits change weekly. The Moon crosses a house in 2.5 days (daily moods), the Sun in a month (yearly focus), Jupiter in a year (growth areas), Saturn in 2.5 years (the lessons). Sade Sati is simply a Saturn transit pattern — heavy but structured.
How the two work together
The rule of thumb: what the dasha promises, transits deliver. A Venus dasha opens love matters, and a good Venus transit can bring the actual meeting. When both point the same way, events feel smooth; when they conflict, expect mixed results — and plan more carefully.
Timing your own decisions
Check your current mahadasha first (the Transit & Dasha tool shows it). Big moves land best in periods of planets that are friendly to your lagna. Then scan the month's transits for support. And remember — timing tilts probabilities, it does not remove your choice.
