What does the Vastu do?

Easy Vastu tips for your home and office — directions, room placement and small changes that bring balance. Everything is calculated with real astrological rules, and your details stay private — we never share your birth information.

The three checks everyone can do

One: which direction does your main door face — that sets the energy of the whole home. Two: is the kitchen in the south-east (fire corner)? Three: is the north-east corner clutter-free? Fix these three and most homes already feel lighter.

A small worked example

Example: a home with the entrance facing south-west and a store room in the north-east. Classic reading: heaviness and blocked growth. Easy fixes: brighter lighting at the entrance, and moving storage out of the north-east corner — no demolition needed.

Common mistakes people make with the Vastu

The biggest one: reading one result as the whole story. The Vastu is one lens on one chart — it gains meaning next to your lagna, your dasha and the full picture. Second mistake: acting on fear. If a result sounds scary, slow down and ask the AI Astrologer to explain it — half the time it's a weaker placement than it looked. Third: sharing birth details carelessly on random sites. Keep your data where it's respected.

A closer look at the Vastu

01

The direction map of a home

Vastu reads a home as a body of five elements distributed across eight directions. North-east belongs to water and is the zone of clarity and prayer — keep it light and open. South-east is fire — the kitchen's natural seat. South-west is earth — the master bedroom and heavy storage, giving stability. North-west is air — guest rooms and ventilation. North attracts money and is classically given to safes and light; east to growth and new beginnings; west to gains and children; south is best kept heavy too. The entrance direction sets the first tone of the whole reading, which is why every vastu check starts at the main door.

02

Room by room: the classical placements

The main door ideally faces north, east or north-east and opens inward. Kitchen sits in the south-east, with the cook facing east. Master bedroom in the south-west; children's rooms in the west or north-west; study in the east or north. Pooja room in the north-east. Toilets traditionally avoid the north-east and south-west corners. Heavy furniture and storage belong to the south and west walls, keeping the north and east lighter and less cluttered. Staircases climb best in the south, west or south-west. Mirrors face north or east rather than the bed. None of this needs demolition — it is a map of where each function sits naturally.

03

Fixes that do not need a hammer

Most modern flats cannot relocate a kitchen, and vastu has a practical tradition of corrections for exactly this reason. A south-west entrance can be balanced with light, a threshold and the right symbol; a toilet in the north-east is traditionally treated with a salt bowl changed weekly and the corner kept ventilated; a missing fire corner is supported by a small lamp in the south-east. Mirrors, plants, colours and decluttering do most of the everyday work — emptying the north-east corner is the single highest-impact free fix in most homes. Be sceptical of expensive 'vastu products'; the tradition's real remedies are mostly light, cleanliness and arrangement.

04

Vastu for shops and offices

Commercial vastu follows the same map with business priorities. The cash counter traditionally faces north — the direction of Kuber — with the owner seated facing east or north. The entrance should open toward the north or east where possible, and the heaviest storage sits south-west. Sales and client-facing teams do better in the north-west; accounts and finance in the north; the owner's cabin in the south-west, the seat of stability. Reception in the north-east keeps the first impression light and clear. Small offices can apply the same logic to desks: face east or north while working, keep the desk's north-east corner clean, and let light in from the east.
